In 2005 a group of Fulton County Artists banded together to hold the first Holiday Art Tour. The purpose of the tour was to increase awareness of the arts in Fulton County by giving the public a view of the artists' studios and how they worked. The Artists also wanted to promote other artists, holiday shopping and tourism in Fulton County. The success of this first tour encouraged the artists to make the tour an annual event. The tour has been well attended by not only Futlon Conty resisdents, but also residents from surrounding counties. The tour is held every year on the first full weekend of December. Saturday hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday hours are 12:00pm to 5:00pm. The artists have expanded the purpose of the tour to promote appreciation of the arts throughout the year. A fund has been established at the Fulton County Community Foundation to be used for activities and events in Fulton County such as concerts, student scholarships, and art programs. Those that sponsor our Holiday Art Tour in turn support Fulton County art events and an annual arts grant to be awarded from the fund. Sponsors to HAT will receive recognition of their support through newpaper and radio advertising of the tour. Sponsors contributing $100 or more will also receive a limited edition color print of the tour's offical poster.
